Johannesburg - EFF leader Julius Malema clarified on Tuesday that he will not be attending a braai at the
home of the man whose video of a Metro Police officer went viral.
The man, Clive Naidoo, filmed the traffic officer issuing him with a fine and the cheeky exchange between them that followed.
The video has since gone viral, with more than 32 000 views.
A user named TruckerDude posted the personal details that Naidoo gives to the officer in the video, saying: "Braai this weekend. Bring cooler boxes and meat. ALL of Twitter."
A screengrab of what appears to be Malema's twitter account shows a post saying: "You are all invited. I'll personally be at this braai." However, the post is no longer on his account, and Malema tweeted: "I'm not attending any braai, some young man tweeted wrong things here without a mandate."
TruckerDude's post was retweeted 162 times by Tuesday afternoon. The video shows Naidoo interacting with the officer as she writes him a fine for allegedly driving through a red traffic light.
The video begins with Naidoo saying, "I did not shoot the robot", while Journey's Don't Stop Believing plays from his car's radio.
After turning down the music, he argues with the officer for laughing at him, and tells her to "make quick" because he needed to go for a meeting.
The officer retorts: "No I can't make quick, I am not working for you." Naidoo then says: "You are working for me... I pay your salaries. I pay tax." "And my tax pays who, your maid?" the officer says. She also comments on him filming the incident saying: "My father never see me [sic] on TV before. He will be proud of me. "You think... I'm scared of videos. I like videos. And you are taking [film of] me with an Apple phone. I am happy because the pictures are superb."
She also laughs at his town of residence.
She mentions that the media must see how she is proud to do her job.
